Hungabee Lake, Lake O’Hara surrounded by the beautiful colour of alpine larch trees in the Fall

Details:

Location: Lake O’Hara in Yoho National Park

Cost:  $1275;  ILPA members receive a $300 refund.  Contact before the tour to receive your refund.  Refund is not available after the tour starts.

Start: Sunday, Sept. 23, 2018 at 7:45am

End: Monday, Sept. 24, 2018 at 6:00pm

Meeting place: The Lake O’Hara trailhead parking lot. The turn off from the Trans Canada Highway into the Lake O’Hara parking lot and trailhead is tricky to notice because of recent road construction.  It is located 1.5 kms East of the Great Divide Lodge, towards Calgary. If you have any questions about where to find the trailhead then please call me anytime before the day of the tour, or simply google “Lake O’Hara Parking Lot.” There is a pin in google maps marking the parking lot location. On the day of the tour I will be at the parking lot/trailhead where there is no cell phone reception.  Please be sure of the meeting location before the start of the tour.  I won’t be reachable on my phone on the day of the tour.

Lake O’Hara Tour Summary:

Lake O’Hara 2018 is our 8th landscape photography tour into the most beautiful little valley in the Rockies.  Follow this link for a description of the tour and tickets.  Go to the eventbrite page for a complete tour description and to get your ticket.  This will be the last tour that I offer into Lake O’Hara for a few years.  I’ll be launching a few other tours in September across Canada for next year during this time and won’t be able to offer this tour next year.

Suggested Equipment list for guests on the 2018 Lake O’Hara tour:

The Lake O’Hara tour info and suggested equipment page is an essential stop if you’re coming up to Lake O’Hara with me this year.  This page is also a great resource for anyone planning their own trip there too.

The gear list will be a valuable planning resource for your own future backcountry photography trips too.  My suggestions for equipment and the information about the tour on that page will prepare you well for this trip.  They will prepare you well for any hut based backcountry photography trip in the future.  Being properly prepared for the backcountry helps you to enjoy it more.  It’s always a good feeling to know that you have everything that you’ll need before you go!  It’s an even better feeling being comfortable when the trip isn’t “picture perfect!”  This equipment list will help you to do that.

I hope to see you in the backcountry and may all of your landscape photography trips be awesome!

Tour cancellation and ticket transfer policy:

We understand that life sometimes gets in the way of some of our guests plans and they have to back out of a tour.  We have to balance that understanding with our business need ss as well.  To that end we have come up with a cancelation policy that brings balance to both sides of the equation.  We want to be understanding, but we also need to meet our commitments to the  tour and the related expenses, and both sides need to honour our commitments to each other.  Below is our tour cancellation policy.

By purchasing your ticket on the tour you agree to the cancellation policy below.  I hope we don’t have to use it.  But, if we do I think that this compromise is reasonable for both of us.  Kazue and I would like to thank you for your interest in our tours.  However, if for some reason we have to cancel a tour we will guarantee a 100% refund of the entire tour registration fee.  We limit our liability in the unlikely event of a tour cancellation up to and including the tour registration fee paid.  We do not accept liability for cancellation, or any other liability, over and above the registration fee of the tour.

–   If the customer cancels with more than 60 days notice before the tour service then 75% of the tour service fee will be refunded.  The retainer is not returned.
–   If the customer cancels between 60 days and 30 days before the tour service then 50% of the tour service fee will be refunded.  The retainer is not returned.
–   Cancelation between 30 days and 14 days before the tour service then 25% of the tour service fee will be refunded.  The retainer is not returned.
–  Cancelation with less than 14 days notice will forfeit the entire tour service fee, and the retainer is not returned.
– Workshop and/or Tour registration and/or cancelation fees are not transferable to another workshop, tour or conference in the event a participant decides to cancel their spot.

Full transfers of tickets to another photographer are allowed up to 7 days before the tour, if, I am notified of the transfer in an email 7 days or more before the start of the tour.  Transfers are not permitted within 7 days of the tour start time due the heavy workload we will already have attending to finalizing preparations for the event.  A $50+gst administration fee applied to permissible transfers payable before the start of the tour.
